Since 2002 the Christoph-Graupner-Gymnasium of Kirchberg has offered an absorbed bilingual method of education. Our method is unique and exclusive to our school.
What are bilingual lessons?
Bilingual denotes education in two languages, and at our school these languages are German and English. In the bilingual course the knowledge and facility students acquire in the initial study of foreign language are then brought to use in particular academic subjects, thus improving and consolidating the students´ command of the foreign language.
What do the bilingual Geography lessons achieve?
The contents of lessons are analogous to the mathematic-scientific and language profiles. In addition to the English materials every pupil in each grade receives workbooks and materials in German. The percentage of English language instruction in the Geography lessons is gradually increased by the teacher. Intensive English study in grades 5 and 6 prepare students for these conditions.
